The Intervale Center
The Intervale Center preserves and manages 350 acres of land, supports farming activities, increases access to local and organic food, improves soil fertility, protects water quality through stream bank restoration, and educates people about agriculture and healthy food.
The Intervale Center has been a long time partner of the Sustainable Schools Project from serving as a host site for teacher professional development to a field trip site for students to learn about food, farming, and nutrition right in their own backyard. The Intervale Center has also played a major role in the Burlington School Food Project by providing fresh fruit and vegetables to the local schools in Burlington. SSP strives to make the connection between the curriculum, cafeteria, and the community by using the Intervale Center resources as a platform for K-12 educational purposes.
